Greeneville Featured In Florida Newspaper

The "unimpeachable charm" of Greeneville has been featured in an article in the Orlando Sentinel, a Florida newspaper.
The Sunday, March 16, edition of the Orlando Sentinel included an article by Jay Clarke, a writer for the Universal Press Syndicate, with a photo of the monument and gravesite here of President Andrew Johnson.
Clarke and his wife visited Greeneville this past fall. They were given a three-hour tour by Tammy Kinser, director of tourism for the Greene County Partnership.
A similar article by Clarke appeared in the Feb. 10 issue of the Houston Chronicle newspaper.
The article says Greeneville's main claim to fame is its connection to Andrew Johnson, the 17th president, and it explains the story of Johnson's life as a tailor and elected official.
Also mentioned is frontiersman Davy Crockett, who was born in Limestone.
According to the article, tourism is Greeneville's top industry, but several prominent manufacturers also are mentioned. They include Jarden Zinc, which makes copper blanks for coins; EcoQuest International and John Deere Power Products.
The article ends by recommending the peanut-butter milkshake and chip burger at the Little Top drive-thru restaurant.
