The Greene County Partnership's new vacation guide advertising some of the attractions of this community is now available.
A total of 75,000 brochures have been distributed to all 13 welcome centers in Tennessee, visitor centers, businesses, airports, and many other sites throughout the region, including Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
The 24-page guide contains visitor, relocation, lodging, and detailed information of historic sites.
"Our new guide contains even more information than the last visitor guide and includes a section on some of the Civil War sites in Greene County, as well as a locator map, health care information, and a listing of designations that Greeneville has been awarded," said Tammy Kinser, the GCP's tourism director.
The brochure contains information on historic sites such as the Andrew Johnson Historic Site, Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, and the Cherokee National Forest, as parks and attractions for visitors. It also contains information on climate and transportation, a dining and shopping guide, recreation, and an events calendar.
The guide also informs the reader about accommodations including cabins, bed-and-breakfast inns, hotels/motels, and campgrounds in Greeneville and Greene County.
Kinser said the guide is sent as a fulfillment piece for every inquiry the Partnership receives through phone calls, letters, and e-mails. "We fulfilled 3,000 inquiries last week," Kinser said.
The brochure was finished about three weeks ago. Kinser said she wants to be able to make the guide on an annual basis. She also wants to thank those who advertised and helped defray the cost of printing. "The community really supported the piece well," Kinser said.
For more information or to obtain your copy of the brochure, please visit the Greene County Partnership office at 115 Academy Street or call Kinser at 638-4111.
